The Lady Behind the Bones
Hey, I'm Cassie.
The lady behind the bones.
I'm a wife, mother, dreamer, creative, music junkie, and self proclaimed badass (as far as a motherly badass can go). Travel calls to me, and I love a grand adventure as often as possible. Raised in rural Western Wisconsin, life was a wild assortment of barefoot adventures.
I am the oldest of 5 kids, and grew up running around on my parents dairy farm, then my grandfathers, and spent more years with dairy cattle than I can remember. That led me to my choice of education in Agricultural Business and Science Technology, with another degree in marketing. Turns out, I never ended up using these degrees for very long and spent way too many years working in retail instead.
I wasn't always ready to own my creativity and design skills. Something inside me always said "you're supposed to be an artist." But I kept ignoring it. Turns out, I just hadn't found the right canvas yet. A lifelong fascination with the Western and cowboy lifestyle thanks to the insane amount of John Wayne movies I watched as a child, led me to buy a skull from a thrift store one day. I took to Pinterest for inspiration, and Pinterest failed me. I decided to just go with it and make something on my own. Everyone who saw it loved it and wanted to know where I got it. Instead of following the flame of inspiration inside me to start designing skulls, I stifled it, and let it eat away at me for 2 years.
Then I finally decided to quit retail, and stay home with my babes the summer of 2016. While I knew being mom was one of my most important jobs, I was struggling. Acclimating to SAHM life was not as easy as I thought it would be. And during that time, the same thought kept coming into my mind daily. So I decided to find some skulls.
After buying 3, I quickly designed them and had them all sold in 2 days. So I did it again, and again, and again. I challenged myself to go ahead a be "different", to try things that I hadn't seen before on skulls. And now 500+ creations later, I continue to be driven to make unique works of art that stand out and will stand the test of time.
My promise to you is that my skulls will always be real - genuine - authentic, not fabricated, most often times cleaned by me, and that the beautiful horns you see on them grew with that skull. I'm determined to give you designs that are always unique and one of a kind. But most importantly, that you're purchasing a beautiful creative vision that I decided to bring into the world because I finally accepted my God given talent and found my perfect canvas.
My art is more than just bone and paint to me. They are legacy pieces that will be a part of your family for generations, and they are pieces of art that are meant to bring joy to you or empower you to tackle your biggest dreams. It's a piece of art meant to inspire adventure within you.
And always know that I am completely honored every time someone decides to make one a part of their home and story. May life find you Wanderlust....
